Massage Therapy

Our Pain Relief Specialists relieve stuckness, pain, and soreness by first calming the sympathetic nervous system (your fight, flight, or freeze response) and then using that calm, parasympathetic state (the rest and digest time) to allow manual resetting of physical imbalances. Our therapists are "specialists" and we are able to craft a massage to suit the individual.

Acupuncture

Less than the width of a cat's whisker, the filiform acupuncture needles stimulate your nervous system, effectively "recalibrating" the communication between your brain and your body, to balance and regulate your own intelligent internal healing processes.

Acupuncture is an integral part of East Asian medicine with a 5000-year history. It effectively helps with a variety of health conditions.

Milwaukee born and raised but with gathered experiences of other cities and cultures on Earth. I’ve been practicing 14 years with a therapeutic and healing mind in my approach to massage.

“You may not fall asleep during the session, but you’ll relax once the work is finished.” I’ve been called an anomaly in practice… “nothing like I’ve ever experienced before.” “The therapist for the therapist”.

I enjoy lending a hand in the recovery and or bringing relief from unexpected injuries and muscle pain gained in life over time. Creating an experience of wellness with nurturing intent for the spirit, mind, and body during your service for the journey ahead.

Hello! I’m Lara Patterson. I studied Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine (where Lauren Rehorst and I met and worked together). I am excited to be on the team at Live Oak Health, serving to help you to realize your health goals and improve your quality of life. I look forward to meeting you!

I used to teach Health classes, and enjoy working with patients interested in optimal nutrition. The body’s ability to heal itself is truly amazing, especially with gentle assistance from acupuncture and body work to help it rebalance. I find it especially gratifying to be able to help athletes return to their sports and assist people in reducing their pain and stress.

I have lived in Mt Pleasant for 12 years, and in WI most of my life. I enjoy teaching skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and working and playing outside in the summer, often with my husband Paul and our 4 adult children.

Hello! I’m PJ.

I received my license at The Aveda Institute of Beauty and Wellness in 2016 and have been a practicing massage therapist since. I like to describe my massage as a calming therapeutic style because I believe in homeostasis of the body.

I got into massage because I always had an interest in how bodies work and how resilient they can be. At first, becoming a physical therapist was at the top of my list, but after careful consideration and a pros and cons list later, I decided that my next move would be to become a massage therapist. Little did I know, I would come to love and appreciate my craft as a perfect profession for myself.

I love to help my clients realize the full potential in their body and how wonderful their innate healing abilities can be in regards to post-injury self care.

Techniques that I utilize in my sessions:

Myofascial release

Sports massage

Deep tissue

Light Swedish massage

I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and I have been living in the greater Milwaukee area since 2009.

I graduated from Lakeside school of Massage Therapy in 2010. I got into this profession because I like working with my hands and helping people. I also like the fact that every person’s needs are different and so every approach to their therapy is unique. I mostly specialize in Deep Tissue therapy.

My favorite type of client is one who is wanting to learn more about the human body and certain things they should be doing on a daily basis to help with their chronic issues.

In my free time I like to play my bass guitar (novice at best) I also like to fish when I’m back in central WI.

I started this practice in 2011 with the motivation of helping people have an easier time at life. Isn’t that what its all about? I’m honored that our therapists and I are able to effect areas of health that aren’t well-addressed in the mainstream medical model. We can help you course-correct minor to medium health issues before they become something more substantial, needing the intervention of a medical doctor.

And if you’re already under the supervision of an expert medical team, our complimentary treatment modalities play a synergistically supportive role in keeping you functioning opitimally.

What Lauren does for fun: - Cooking and enjoying food - Bodybuilding - Spending quality outdoor time with her family: husband Jon, dogs Shadow and Archie, and horse Ranger - Continuing to learn about how to better help you!
